About Counseling
-
I aim to help you discover new perspectives that make the changes you’re seeking possible. My goal is for you to finish our work together feeling more confident and hopeful, more at ease with yourself, and equipped with practical approaches that truly work for you.
-
I want to support you both in the areas in which you feel that you can no longer move forward alone, when problematic relationship dynamics have become too entrenched. My aim is to support you as a couple and to create a space in which you can reconnect, approach each other constructively, and find new ways of being together.

Please reach out if you are feeling stuck or overwhelmed. You may not be able to identify clearly what is weighing you, but you may sense that something has not felt right for some time. You may be hoping for change, even if you are uncertain what the change should be.
Alternatively, you may have a clear sense of the challenges you are confronting: a separation, excessive stress at work, anxiety, difficulty making important decisions, conflicts with family or friends, grief, other crises, or you may simply be feeling stuck and unsure of the path forward.
As a couple, you may be missing love or intimacy, feel caught in a vicious cycle, struggle communicating with each other, or face difficulties balancing individual and shared needs. Maybe you are navigating major life transitions together, such as parenthood, or you have realized that you are growing apart, feeling disconnected despite your best efforts to be close.
Together, we can explore what you’re experiencing and gently work toward a path that feels right for you.

About me
My name is Annika Silberstein, and I am a psychologist with a background in developmental and health psychology. I have a PhD and MSc in Psychology from the University of Zurich. I have been trained in individual and couples counseling, and I continue to pursue ongoing professional development to provide the best possible support for my clients.
I offer integrative counseling, which means I use a variety of methods and approaches flexibly to support you best and to tailor my counseling to your needs. These include existential-analytical approaches (based on the work of Viktor E. Frankl), imaginative techniques (following the work of U. Böschemeyer), as well as body-centered approaches and mindfulness practices. In my work with couples, I primarily draw on Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples (S. Johnson).
